Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage was first launched in Olympia WA in 1999. The school grew quickly and developed a reputation of creating exceptional therapists in Southwest Washington with graduates working in a variety of settings.

Our curriculum is built on 4 foundational concepts:

A new brand of massage school is evolving at Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage. Our students crave more than basic information. They desire to help their clients feel better.  Utilizing the 4 foundational concepts, students are better able to help clients get relief from acute and chronic conditions.  Our graduates have the skills they need to succeed on their own – or as part of a team in a clinic or spa.

Testimonials:

“I just wanted to let you know we hired Chris. We have the largest practice in Vancouver and have been awarded Best of Clark County the last 5 years in a row. We usually have around 25 LMTs on staff at any given time and I wanted to tell you that in 19 years owning this clinic, Chris has the skill level of a 10+ year practitioner. Whatever you guys are doing over there.. good job!

We start at $40/hr plus gratuity, have healthcare and retirement benefits and low turnover – everyone is happy here – so if you come across anyone you ever want to send our way they would get top priority.” Dr. Seth Hutton, Vancouver Chiropractic

I have been self-employed since day 1 and since then I’ve been able to match or exceed my retail salary that I left.  Since then, my practice has grown exponentially. I’ve been able to make $10k months as a business owner, just by myself  and my business is expanding.” Madison Pate, LMT

“My time here at Bodymechanics was phenomenal. It was a great experience with great instructors who created a lot of space and time for us to work through our weaknesses but were also great about celebrating every triumph and every victory.” Jon Henares

From the perspective of our Campus Manager

Chad Knowlden, LMT is the Campus Manager at the Vancouver Massage School, Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage. He’s been with us for 4 years now – which is just about how long we’ve been open as a massage school in Vancouver!

He was kind enough to share his vision for the future of our Vancouver Massage School at Bodymechanics. Read on!

When the body gets working appropriately, the force of gravity can flow through, then spontaneously, the body heals itself ~ Ida Rolf

4 years ago, I walked into Bodymechanics School looking for a teaching position. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it sure wasn’t what I saw! I walked directly into the classroom from the front door and saw the smallest class in session I had seen in my 12 years of teaching.

There was the instructor teaching to 4 students. She stopped what she was doing and asked if she could help me.

I interviewed with school owner, Shari Aldrich, LMT the next day, was hired and proceeded to grow with the school.

From instructor to now serving as the Campus Manager – and from 4 students to 13, our campus is coming into its own.

I stay for several reasons.
First is the students. We have some of the best I have ever had the pleasure to teach. Their passion and enthusiasm is contagious to say the least. It shows in everything they do and has not gone unnoticed by the massage and chiropractic community. Jobs are waiting for them, sometimes months before they graduate and are licensed. The job demand and starting pay is greater in Vancouver than ever before and there are no signs of slowing down.

The second reason is where I see this school going in the future. The class size as well as our name and reputation is growing by leaps and bounds! We talk about building a new campus. We are approved to add our Certified Personal Trainer program. These have inspired me to stay and be part of this amazing ride.

My name and reputation in the massage community is extremely important to me. I would never do anything to jeopardize them, so believe me when I say that I am proud to be a part of Bodymechanics School and to help take them and our students to the next level!

Chad Knowlden, LMT

We couldn’t be more excited for the future of Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage – in both our Vancouver and Tumwater locations.

The job market for massage therapists has never been stronger than it is today. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, massage therapists nationally had a median annual wage of $41,420 as of May, 2018. And the job outlook showed that massage therapists jobs will grow 26% from 2016 to 2026, much faster than that average for all occupations.

This bodes well for anyone who is considering a new career. I look at massage therapy as the ultimate human to human business. Massage is one of the greatest way to impact a life – through your touch, knowledge, communication and desire to help another person. If this sounds like you, we’d love to have an opportunity to talk about the career options – and where a career as an LMT can take you.

As you heard from Chad above, we are committed to our students success and will do all in our power to help them find their direction and their passion helping others.

We offer much more than a career. We offer our guidance and continued support long after school is over. Once you are in the Bodymechanics family, you are with us forever.

If you’ve considered a career in massage therapy, check out Bodymechanics School. With class starts just around the corner, we are ready to help you launch your new career.
