About Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage
POSITIVELY IMPACTING PAIN THRU MASSAGE TREATMENT THERAPY
Our goal at Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage is twofold:
- To advance and promote the field of therapeutic massage through the generation of diverse, competent and well respected professional massage practitioners.
- To promote understanding within the general public of the value of massage therapy as a highly effective healthcare modality through interaction with staff and students in Student Clinic and fieldwork.
We continually strive to develop professionals who are prepared to implement advanced therapeutic techniques and positively impact the quality of care delivered by massage therapists.
“I joined Bodymechanics School a few months into the day program when the school I was going to closed their doors, allowing me to continue my education. In just the short month I have been with the school I have learned more than I could imagine. I feel that I do have the confidence to be a great massage therapist. I would recommend that if anyone is going to pursue a career as a massage therapist, this IS the school to go to!” Caitlin
History of Bodymechanics School
The Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage is a proprietary school owned by Shari L. Aldrich, LMT. The school was founded in 1999 by Robert B. Haase, LMT, with the initial class convening in April, 2000. In July, 2010, Shari Aldrich became the owner of the school, and continues the excellent tradition for “creating exceptional therapists”.
In 2012, Bodymechanics School landed in its “forever” home at 2330 Mottman Road SW #106 as Shari secured funding to purchase a new, 6000 square foot facility that has become a education destination in Thurston County.
In 2015, Bodymechanics School has added to our offerings with our Certified Personal Trainer program. Our CPT program offers hands-on training, set in a functioning gym facility. Our students have the unique opportunity to engage with clients and develop real life case studies; as well as physically go through everything themselves. 2 levels of training ensure our graduates are able to work with a wide variety of clients.
In 2016, we launched our Vancouver campus – offering the same advanced massage education in Vancouver Washington as in our Tumwater location.
We continually hear from clients at our student massage clinic how surprised they are by the quality of work our students provide – often hearing “better than most professionals.” But, don’t just take our (or their) word for it! Curious – yet interested?
2019 saw a major remodel of our Tumwater facility as we made the massage classroom larger and added a second floor office for research and development of new programs. As we celebrate 20 years of being an approved massage school with the Department of Health, Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage stays committed to our goal of creating exceptional massage therapists – and personal trainers!
