On Sunday, May 18, 2014, students at Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage once again provided free sports massage to many of the runners who competed in the Capital City Marathon in Olympia, Wa.

The school has been a longstanding sponsor of the event and our students have massaged thousands of runners over the years. This year’s event was another shining example of how great an experience it is for the students and runners alike.
Read on for some great comments from our students:
“I had a great day massaging at the marathon. It’s so nice to hear the marathoners compliment us and appreciate what we are doing for them. It was a wonderful experience to have. Isn’t this what it’s all about? To make people feel better with our healing hands. I love it” Mui M.
“I had a wonderful day today! And seems like everyone else did too! I’m so grateful to help people, and have the chance to become a massage therapist! A big thank you to Shari Aldrich and Wayne Johnson! You guys are so awesome!” Chad
“Had a blast with everyone today! It was a lot of fun!” Scott C
“Love it… had sooo much fun!” Audie H.
“So much fun today! I’m so tired…. I need a massage” Laura D.
“What an awesome experience… I would do it again!!!!!” Jayla J.
“I had so much fun spending the day with some AWESOME fellow massage students – Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage ROCKS!! Thank you for being such and inspiration to all Wayne and Shari.” Pebbles
“This experience was out of this world AMAZING! Did you all see that fabulous older gentleman who could barely walk across the finish line? Inspirational doesn’t begin to cover it. I felt honored and stresses and so BLESSED to participate in the helping & healing of all those running worriors today. NEVER a bad day @ Bodymechanics Lotasa Love.” Amberleigh
It can be daunting for students to work on athletes at this level of competition. Some of the people in the picture

have been in school for just 1 month. I told them that if they come into this event with a giving and helping heart that they will do just fine – and they did better than fine! Our night students are the senior class and they led the way and worked hard. Weekenders, I swear you all smiled the entire time and I could tell that you loved being there! Morning class newbies showed grace under pressure as the newest class. I’m just so impressed.
Wayne and I have tremendous gratitude towards the students at Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage for their awesome work today providing massage on the runners who completed 5 miles, 13.1 miles or 26.2 miles at the Capital City Marathon.

Thanks to the runners and organizers of Capital City Marathon for once again allowing our students to gain valuable and practical experience on the participants.
