A passionate instructor is someone who loves their field of knowledge, is engaged by issues that challenge our way of thinking, or someone who sees potential and strives to bring forth knowledge of those they teach. The passion instructors bring to their subject is a gift to students they teach – and a way for instructors to honor their work.
Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage, with massage school campuses in Tumwater and Vancouver Washington, and our Certified Personal Trainer program in Tumwater, employs passionate instructors who strive to share their passion in their respective subject areas.
Shuna Morelli, BS LMP, has been teaching Kinesiology at our Tumwater campus since 2006 and who has really honed her skills and shares her passion for muscles to students. Our goal is to address every learning style possible whenever possible, which helps students understand advanced theory. (In the picture to the left, Shuna teaches students about muscle location using clay and a skeleton.)
Sabrina Wright, LMP, teaches Anatomy, Pathology & Physiology (Vancouver) and Business classes (Vancouver and Tumwater.) Sabrina holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and has had a long career in Retail Management for over 25 years. In addition, Sabrina has had a multi-discipline clinic for 7 years in Vancouver, WA. Sabrina also has been a licensed massage therapist since 2005. Her passion for teaching her students is palpable. She spends countless hours reaching out to students on our private social media pages and offers up additional education, and answers student questions around the clock.
DeWayne Unger, Master Personal Trainer, CPT, CES, teaches program design for our Level 1 and Level 2 Personal Training programs. DeWayne is one of 60 Master Trainers with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) out of 60,000 personal trainers in the US. His dedication to advancing his personal knowledge, and then passing that on to students is done with enthusiasm and dedication to advancing the profession. DeWayne spent hours developing our advanced personal trainer program and prepares students to become NASM certified through our academic partnership.
Among his many accomplishments, DeWayne is a nationally recognized fitness expert with multiple appearances in national publications, and he served on the 2014 Practice Analysis Task Force Committee for NASM.
Shari Aldrich, LMP is President and Clinical Director for Bodymechanics School. She has been a massage therapist since 2006 and became the school owner in 2010. Her passion for teaching began just 4 months after graduating from Bodymechanics School in 2006. Today, her commitment to creating exceptional massage therapists – and now, Personal Trainers, comes from a desire to reach 1 million people and take them out of pain by 2020. By sharing her passion and her knowledge with students in the Tumwater and Vancouver massage school campuses, this goal is within her reach.
Shari’s commitment to student and professional development continues to evolve. In 2016, Shari has created her injury treatment manual and companion video’s – a new tool that will help countless students and professionals understand the Bodymechanics foundation.
New programs in development include First Year Experience, where we follow graduates for a year after graduation to ensure professional development and career satisfaction; Advanced Training Program, where we help students identify their niche market and develop a business model around career satisfaction and Instructor Development our own in-house instructor training course for professionals.
From our students…
Over the years, our students have expressed better than average satisfaction with our program. Students develop long-term friendships with their classmates and instructors. They develop a strong level of trust – a necessity when describing long held aches and pains and offering up their own injuries to their classmates to be treated during class.
During classes, there are great discussions regarding acute and chronic conditions. Our passionate instructors share their knowledge and experience with client care to help student develop their skills. It’s a fine setting – passionate instructors and curious students sharing their knowledge and passion for massage therapy in a way that helps us reach thousands of people every year and relieve painful conditions such as low back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and knee pain. Giving clients a better quality of life is our goal.
