offers a sound massage educational opportunity to the counties we serve – including Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Pierce, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Cowlitz and Clark Counties. We offer quality programs that allow our students to be leaders in their chosen field. Our facilities are new and modern. Our prices are competitive. Most importantly, our advanced training program prepares our graduates for success. For 2022, Bodymechanics School had a 100% pass rate on the certification exam students must pass to become a Licensed Massage Therapist – compared to 70% nationally on the first attempt. Our goal is to offer the Bodymechanics Experience to all who walk in our doors – or who “taste” our services in our community outreach programs. Location
Our massage programs include our 700-hour day and evening program, and our 648-hour weekend program. Each class is designed to prepare students to become critical thinkers so that they are successful not just in massage – but in life. Our entire program prepares students for the MBLEx success.
The Bodymechanics Experience has become the culture in our building as all who work there offer warm greetings and hospitality to all who walk in our doors. Our Story
The Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage is a proprietary school owned by Shari Aldrich, LMT. The school was founded in 1999 by Robert B. Haase, LMT, with the initial class convening in April, 2000. In July, 2010, Shari Aldrich became the owner of the school, and continues the excellent tradition for “creating exceptional therapists”.
In 2012, Bodymechanics School landed in its “forever” home at 2330 Mottman Road SW #106 as Shari secured funding to purchase a new, 6000 square foot facility that has become an education destination in Thurston County.
In 2016, Bodymechanics School launched our Vancouver massage school campus. We’ve experienced great growth in a short amount of time and classes are filling up with people from Southwest Washington and Portland, OR. Our advanced massage program is creating a new type of massage therapist in Vancouver – an advanced therapist who excels in treatment-based massage modalities.
Massage therapy continues to be one of the fastest growing professions in the US.

The need for therapeutic touch has never been more important than it is today. Sadly, the number of massage schools in the US are declining as many of the larger, for-profit schools have closed. With COVID, we saw hundreds more small, proprietary schools close their doors across the US.

Special programs such as our First Year Experience, follows graduates in their first year of practice, offering marketing tips, motivational advice, business tips, and other concepts to boost graduate success. Our proprietary Incubator Program continues to develop professional skills for our graduates.
The addition of our personal training program offers a continuity of theory and exceptional training. Many massage students continue their education after graduation and take part in our personal training programs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BEFORE ENROLLING
- Instruction days are as follows:
- Morning sessions are from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Tuesday – Friday
- Evening Sessions are from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm from Monday to Thursday
- Weekend sessions are from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Saturday & Sunday, 2-3 weekends per month
- Minimum required attendance is 85% overall
- Minimum grades must be at least 75% average in each subject with an overall GPA of 75%
- Persons enrolling in the Bodymechanics School should be aware of the following additional requirements:
- Attendance at one or two weekend events – date and event to be determined for each class
- A current class schedule for the entire year is posted in the classroom. Due to scheduling constraints, modifications may become necessary.
- Student tuition covers the cost of normal instruction and program administration, only. Absences, unsatisfactory academic performance and disciplinary actions create additional administrative costs, which will be passed on to the student in the form of Administrative Fees. These fees are detailed in the appropriate sections of the student handbook.
- We are unable to assist with job placement upon graduation from our program. However, our program is so successful that we often have chiropractors and clinics in the area calling us and asking us to tell our students about open positions they have. These requests are posted in the classroom as well as our private school social media pages and students are encouraged to contact these people as soon as possible.
- We expect our students to come to class prepared for the days activities, and dressed appropriately and rested. This prevents distractions to fellow classmates.
- We maintain a no tank top rule during class hours. We are entering into a profession where we are judged by our professional appearance and there are some clothing styles that make it difficult to be viewed as a professional.
- Student safety is of utmost importance. If it is unsafe to travel to school due to weather related restrictions, please stay home. The school follows local school district closure as posted.
- Per RCW 18.108.050: Students enrolled in an approved massage school, or approved apprenticeship program, practicing massage techniques, incidental to the massage school or program, and supervised by the approved school. Students must identify themselves as a student when performing massage services on members of the public. Students may NOT be compensated for the massage services they provide.
