We are excited to announce there’s a new massage school in Santa Fe! Bodymechanics School of Massage – Santa Fe was approved by the New Mexico Board of Massage on March 22, 2021.
Many have asked why we are launching a new massage school in Santa Fe – it’s far from our home base in Washington State. It’s a fair question to ask.
During COVID stay at home orders, I was speaking to massage school owners around the country. I also took some courses and did a lot of Zoom webinars. Somewhere along the journey I learned that the Santa Fe School of Massage was closing their doors due to COVID. I reached out to the owner, Cathy Black, and we had several conversations on me potentially buying the school.
In the end, we were unable to complete that option – but with Cathy’s blessing, she encouraged us to open our school so that a massage school in Santa Fe would be available. So here we are – with our massage school open.
It’s been a fast journey. We took over the lease that the former school had on Siler Road.
We purchased much of their equipment.
And the best part is that we’ve hired several of the instructors that previously taught at Santa Fe School of Massage.
Now Enrolling for Massage School
We are currently enrolling students for our first class which will begin June 8, 2021. Our program is part-time and we offer day and evening classes.
For day class, we go to school Tuesday – Friday from 9 am – 1 pm and classes run for 10 months.
Evening classes are Monday – Thursday from 6 pm – 10 pm and also for 10 months.
We do offer 30 massage labs during our program where we focus each week on practicing the techniques learned the week before. NM law doesn’t allow students to practice massage outside of direct school supervision, so the labs are an opportunity for students to practice. Massage labs are held on the 5th day of the week throughout the program.
Our 4 Pillars of Success guide our program:
- Technique
- Communication
- Marketing
- Critical thinking skills
We believe that our students must be exceptional in all areas for career success.
We offer in-house financing on the tuition and can allow students to extend payments for 3 years – making our part-time massage program affordable and attainable. When you talk to us about financing, realize that we have the ability to work with most budgets. Please just ask.
We are excited to get started with our exceptional program in Santa Fe. We have over 10 years experience with our campuses in Washington State. We might be the new kid on the block in Santa Fe, but we are definitely not new to massage education.
