Course Description:
The Basics of Oncology Massage provides an overview of cancer and explores the role massage therapists can play in cancer treatment. Oncology massage is a non-invasive and provides patients compassionate touch at a time when most of their tests, treatment and surgeries cause pain. Learn massage techniques to work safely with patients receiving cancer treatments.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the basic biology of cancer
- Discuss a variety of cancer treatments and their effects on the body
- Explain the benefits and risks of massage therapy in cancer treatment
- Demonstrate appropriate adjustments to massage that should be main for cancer patients.

About the instructor:
Dawn Edge, RPh, LMT has been a health care provider for over 20 years. She has spent those years as an independent retail pharmacist, massage and movement therapist, and massage therapy instructor. Her speciality is hospice massage.
