DESCRIPTION of Gua Sha class
Learn to effectively release restricted fascia, adhesions, and scar tissue with gua sha, also known as scraping therapy or IASTM. Gua sha provides noticeable pain relief and improved muscle functioning.
This hands-on workshop includes basic and advance techniques for prone, supine, side-lying, face, scalp, scars, and range of motion. You will learn to address common complaints such as chronic muscular pain, tension headaches, and plantar fasciitis. We will cover indications and contraindications, safety, communication, and the history and contemporary use of scraping therapies.
Please bring a gua sha tool of your choice to the workshop, you can use this article about gua sha tools as a reference. Professional copper gua sha tools from AcuArtistry will be available for sale at the workshop for $100, debit or credit cards are accepted for payment. Continuing Education Credit
All workshop participants must be licensed to provide therapeutic bodywork. Licensed massage therapists will receive continuing education credit hours. Other providers please check with your licensing board to determine if you can receive continuing education credit.
