Tumwater – Ethics: Risk vs. Rewards
February 9, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
$80Massage Continuing Education Ethics: Risk vs. Reward — Massage on the Ethical Edge
The rules around massage in the state of Washington continue to evolve. More than ever you need to make sure you know the updates on draping, breast massage, record keeping, etc. Some of these changes are due to the nature of complaints filed against massage therapists here in our state.
How do we work with our clients in an environment that’s not only changing but also sees an increasing number of complaints filed with the Department of Health against us? And, the Department of Health is not our only concern. We face civil and even criminal risks and risks with insurance carriers wanting refunds because of fraudulent practices.
One question to ask yourself: Do you have policy in place to deal with complaints that can range from minor to very serious, even criminal at times? Do you know who to call for assistance if there is a problem? After this class you’ll walk away with the information you need to not only practice within the rules but to better recognize potential traps that most therapists tend to fall into and land in trouble.
This 4-hour CE class is truly ethics on steroids and takes an in-depth and candid look at these challenges and prepares you for what lies ahead.
