Class Description:
The class will be addressing the topics of how to embody anti racism and release internalized oppressive beliefs around fat phobia, trans phobia and ableism- being blind to folks with disabilities and nuero-divergence. Community agreements will be created to step into a brave space together to be able to dive inwards. Class consists of lecture, discussions and dialogue, ending with personal commitments to continuing the work.

Instructor Bio:
Graciela Lopez, LMT, NTs (MT#8653, NCBTMB AP #10000166) has been practicing Thai massage for just over 10 years. Graciela studied in Laos, Costa Rica, Mexico and New Mexico with teachers in the lineage of Asokananda whose teachings trace back to Jivaka Khumar Baccha, revered as the father of medicine in Thailand and was said to be the doctor of the Buddha. Graciela is also a cultural worker and facilitates a ethics of diversity and anti-oppression in bodywork classes on the topics of facing our prejudices to become more present and mindful practitioners addressing the needs of a diverse array of clients including those of the trans, Black, Indigenous and POC communities, people with bodies of size and people with disabilities.
Graciela is grateful to be providing a space for folks to receive deep healing and has a long-term dream of co-creating a healing center to support people traditionally left out of healing spaces due to a blend of racial & socio-economic factors.
