8 Things Massage Student Must Know

  1.  ATTENDANCE
The Bodymechanics School is a sacred space custom designed for you.  To ensure you’re receiving optimal value, we take the time to understand each of you and your objectives on an individual basis.  It is vitally important to your education that you are present each class as the interaction with staff and classmates enhances your understanding of the information.  Emergencies come up, that’s understandable.  Please be in communication with the school as soon as you know.
  2. TIME
Know that you matter.  Consistently being on time, not a minute late, for the time you are enrolled in massage school will allow you to get the most out of your education.  We look forward to our time with you and being present for the entire course from start to finish is important.
  3. Empowered
We often want to be right or wrong, or prove others wrong.  Consider our team and your classmates your education partner during school, where no one is wrong.  We will never make you wrong.  Don’t make yourself wrong either.  Be empowered, not right or wrong.
  4. Wellness
You will invest a lot in a program that yields sustainable results – and a new career.  You will want to function at peak performance during school.  Taking care of yourself while a student is vitally important.  You will learn as you go that self-care is as important for you as it is for your clients.  Therefore, wellness is important.  We will teach you the best self-care strategies and bodymechanics for proper massage alignment, then it’s up to you to integrate the knowledge.  Get sleep, eat well – and take care of yourself during school.
  5. Integrity
Be your word and keep your word once given.  If you need to change an agreement, make sure you are in communication with the person/s with whom it affects. You will be entering a profession where your professionalism will dictate your success.  Learn this lesson well.  Agreements are the foundation of trust and integrity.
  6. Participate
The program is designed to support you in getting you trained and developed.  Your participation is key to your success and we and the community want to hear from you.  What you have to say is valuable.  However, we understand that you may be shy, and that’s okay, too.  This is your year – make it what you want and get the most out of it.
